Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Blessed be God.
Blessed be His Holy Name.
Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true man.
Blessed be the Name of Jesus.
Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be His Most Precious Blood.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy.
Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in His angels and in His Saints.
May the heart of Jesus, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored, and loved with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time.

Amen.

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

Mary The Dawn

For our beautiful Mother, Mary…

The Catholic Me

God could have come to the world any way He wanted. He wanted to come through Mary.

Mother. Son. Mary. Jesus. Inextricably connected. Where there is Jesus, you will find Mary. Where there is Mary, you will find Jesus. Without Mary, there is no Jesus. Without Jesus, there is no Mary.

You can’t have one without the other…

The First Stone

Some of the things that that will get you into Hell…

The Catholic Me

A lesson that I think most of us need to be reminded of…

Jn 8:3 – 11 Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery and made her stand in the middle. They said to him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?”They said this to test him, so that they could have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger. But when they continued asking him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”Again he bent down and wrote on the ground. And in response, they went away one by one…

What About Hell? – The Other Place

What if there is?

The Catholic Me

Asked about people who do not believe in Hell, St Pio replied – “They will believe in it where they get there”

Probably the two most successful tricks of the Devil to get souls off of the road to Heaven and onto the road to Hell are:

  1. Convince you that there is no Devil and
  2. Convince you that there is no Hell

Once he has succeeded in doing one or both of those two things, it’s pretty much a slam dunk you will end up there.

“Well, what if there isn’t a Devil or Hell?” Well, if there isn’t, then neither of us have anything to worry about.

But, what if there IS? Well then, at least one of us has EVERYTHING to worry about.

What Is An Atheist vs An Agnostic?

The Catholic Me

I was in a discussion about God the other day with a young person who considers himself and atheist. Early on in the discussion he stated that he didn’t know if God exists, but conceded that He might.

At the point where he revealed that he is an atheist, I suggested that he was agnostic rather than atheist because he didn’t know for sure one way or the other. He was adamant that he was atheist because an atheist is one who really doesn’t care one way or the other.

A bit more back and forth ensued, and he left the conversation “knowing” that he was right and I was wrong.

Sigh…

This got me to thinking that there may be others out there who might need some clarification…

From Webster:

Definition of atheist

:a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods

More Sheen On Truth

The Catholic Me

“Christ said, not a single iota of the truth He gave was to be changed, then by what right do we sit in judgment on Divinity and say: This much of Your truth we will accept, because it pleases us, and this much we will reject? We are not the creators of divine truth; we are only the trustees and the guardians. God’s truths are not optional any more than the right to happiness is optional; they are not debatable any more than the multiplication table is debatable. Any sect which starts with the assumption that it has rights over God’s truth proves that it is man-made, and a religion that is man-made can be man-unmade. But a Church which is God-made cannot be man-unmade.” — Archbishop Fulton Sheen (Seven Pillars of Peace)

Loving Mother, Faithful Wife – The Video

The Catholic Me

Many long years ago, my wife, Judy, and I were out to dinner. I had been writing songs for the parish youth group/Confirmation class for several years, and Judy came up with the idea of doing one NOT specifically for the teenagers in the parish. She specifically asked me to write one for The Blessed Mother.

She handed me an extra napkin and a pen. I started writing. I got much of the song written that night in the restaurant…

I honestly don’t think it was me, so much, as the Spirit guiding me along with it.

Anyway, It’s been recorded for almost twenty years, and I thought I might want to make it into some sort of video.

My friend, Koni Ritch, helped out with the vocals (she’s the good sounding one)…

Fatima: The Miracle of the Sun

“Everyone within an area of 32 miles thought it was the end of the world.”

Sermon on the Miracle of the Sun. What happened? Why is it significant? What does it symbolize?Who wrote about it & took the pictures? What evidence is there about it? Is it historical? What does the message mean?
